My usual go-to-place for seafood is "Joe's Crab Shack" but my daughter suggested "Chasin' Tails". We decided on the Centreville location since Arlington had no reservations opened. No problem since it's Friday. My first time at ANY Chasin' Tails. We were promptly greeted upon entering. We asked to sit outside since inside seating seemed to be full. It was an early Friday night so no surprise! They asked us to wait in the lobby seating area until they got our table ready. Very fast since we barely sat down for even 3 minutes. Got outside and they had a nice outdoor fire going. We didn't have to wait long for our server to come by. Our server was friendly and service was great. We ordered from the boiled seafood which comes served in a bag with a corn and potato. I chose shrimp which you can have with/out the heads off. My daughter chose snow crab legs. You then choose your "style" which I think is the sauce and there are 3 choices: ORIGINAL CAJUN, GARLIC BUTTER or OH DANG! I chose Garlic Butter. You then choose the heat level: MILD, MEDIUM, HOT or N'AWLINS HOT. Since I wanted to stay on the safe side and to be able to enjoy my food I chose MEDIUM. It was a little spicy towards the end....creeps up on you. So I'm sure the next time I'll be able to handle the HOT. *fingers crossed* Man! The Cajun style blend will have you speaking Cajun when you're done! I was licking my gloved plastic fingers which they provide with your bib. It's a mess but such a delicious mess. I have to tell you after experiencing that Cajun taste/seasoning with the sauce you choose which permeates the actual seafood it's boiled AND sautéed in I can NEVER. I'm going to repeat myself. NEVER going back to Joe's. Sorry Joe's. There's seafood that has seasoning and sauce which only seems to coat rather than get absorbed and well...Chasin' Tails has won me over. As for parking it shares parking with a Carraba's (?...not sure since I was concentrating on getting to eating once I exited our vehicle) to its left and there is a closed down restaurant to it's right. So plenty of parking.
I definitely recommend! C'est bon! -

I came in here with my BF for a date night. The lady said it would be a 20 minute wait and we were free to wait at the bar area. We found two chairs at the far right of the bar. We sat for the 20 minutes advised without being greeted or offered any beverages. I even pulled menus for us and we selected drinks of it and continued waiting...
We got seated, ironically, right by the bar in the booth on the other side of the bar. There was a group table on the other side of our booth and they were nothing but loud and carrying on with high pitch laughter and cackling. The service stand was also right in front of us where glasses were broken during pick up from the bar.
Our waiters was named Matt. He seemed friendly and attentive at first. We ordered our food of alligator bites and etouffee. The food itself was good. Fatty on the bites, but had a good dipping sauce and the etouffee had a gravy flavor that was satisfying. Our waiter disappeared and we continued to sit and wait once we were done.
Finally, we got his attention and cashed out. Overall the waiting and noise level really is what took this place away from interest in the future. The food itself was good from what we tried out. This is why I'm rating Meh. I've experienced Better. I do hope to one day come with a group of friends and try one of the pots. -

So I love boil seafood. My friends and I go once a month; sometimes even twice. We've gone to a couple places and definitely have our favorite. BUT if we are in Centreville we'll go to chasing tails. They're pretty good, the sauce is delicious!
The one thing I have noticed is their seafood is smaller than other places. The shrimp is smaller and dirtier. The mussels are smaller. Maybe their price is cheaper and I haven't realized? Who knows.
Otherwise the food is good! They're pretty quick. Better service that other places we've gone too. They're nicer :) -

Chasin' tails in Centreville is really spacious with lots of parking lots. They got enough outdoor areas too.
They have fish bowl cocktails but they are really sweet. I didn't taste any liquor.
Mac and cheese was too watery and not enough cheese so it was a bit disappointing.
Clams in the bag were too salty -

If you love seafood boils you need to try here! I went with a group of 7 and got the biggest seafood combo, extra pound of crab legs and shrimp, crawfish mac n cheese, and the sriracha honey shrimp. Everything was delicious, but I think it might have been cheaper not getting the seafood combo and ordering separately. Groupon also usually has a deal so make sure you take advantage of that! The crawfish is tasty but is too much work for the tiny amount of meat and the crab legs don't soak up the sauce as well, so my favorite to eat are the shrimps.
